Tesselated band bracelet-Victorian 9kt Carved Gutta-Percha Bangle Bracelet
Qty:
An unusual gutta-percha bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This unique and stylish piece is made of hand-carved gutta-percha, and has a smooth, earthy brown surface. Lining both the top and bottom of the bracelet are two bands of rich 9kt yellow gold, which rest within carved grooves to create a ridged design. The gold banding runs the entire length of the piece and set across the front are seven ornate flourishes with a soft etched surface. The bracelet is hinged and clasps at the side and a gold safety chain adds extra security. The contrast between the vibrant yellow gold accents and the dark gutta-percha creates a very striking look and the bangle looks beautiful on! A very unique piece, this bracelet would look fantastic paired with other complimentary bracelets or worn alone, and is perfect for daily wear!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where your wrist would rest) measures slightly less than 2 1/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall. The surface of the bracelet measures 1/2" wide and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gutta-percha or to the yellow gold accents. The push clasp and safety chain are both secure and in good working condition.
